Rhode Island is a state of the northeast United States on the Atlantic Ocean. It was granted a royal charter in 1663 and after the American Revolution began the industrialization that is still a major part of the state%27s economy. The maximum area of Rhode Island is flat with no real mountains. Its highest point is Jerimoth Hills.

Providence is the capital and the largest city. Its approximated population is 1,070,000. The area of the Rhode Island is 1,212 square miles. It is the smallest state in the Union and is only about 48 miles long and 37 miles wide.
