West Virginia is a state of the east-central United States in the region of Appalachia. It was admitted as the 35th state in 1863. It is also known as The Mountain State. Charleston is the capital and the largest city. Its approximated population is 1,810,000.
The area of the West Virginia is 24,232 square miles. It is bordered by Pennsylvania to the north, Maryland and Virginia to the east, Kentucky to the southwest, and Ohio to the northwest. Huntington is the second largest city, followed by Wheeling and Parkersburg.
